I decided to try my hand at some coasters. I normally partake in cold drinks, which eventually condenses a lot of water around my glass, then drips everywhere. PLA isn't particularly good at soaking this up, so I know I wanted to depend on capillary action to pull this water away from my glass and into the coaster. For this reason, my design has space beneath the surface to collect this condensate. I tried some other patterns, including concentric rings/circles, but this wasn't so good for paper cups, which have a paper-thin ring at the bottom which would get stuck, or worse, cause the cup to fall over.

Plantygon is a modular geometric stacking planter. Designed to accommodate my growing collection of succulents, it is based on the truncated octohedron which can tesselate in 3D space. This allows each planter to stack together in any combination that you’d like!

Another creation in the theme of organizing things. Yet another project in hopes of impressing my wife with the usefulness of having a 3D Printer. The original case for this project was to organize a makeup box but this thing could be applied to organizing any drawer or box. Instructions There are two major variants of walls in each of six sizes from one tab to six (180mm). The largest being driven by the printable area of my reprap. The two variants are one with a tabbed slot that allows two walls to be joined and one without that tabbed slot. There are also three joiners with the large cross being used to secure two tabbed walls and the small cross being used for the tabless walls. The straight joiner is used to secure the joining of two walls with a tab. Join tabbed walls by inserting the small tabs in the slot provided, force the two walls together, and then use the straight joiner to reinforce the join. PLEASE NOTE! This thing requires a reasonably precise printer in order for things to fit. However, if you printer is REALLY precise the joins may actually float a little given the tolerances that I have played into the design. With my printer things join reasonably well without a lot of force but are still reasonably secure. I would recommend a drop of adhesive on each joint. The works shown were printed using PLA with a layer height of .32 and a fill of .2
